Terms & Conditions

Tariffs, Deposits, Payments and Cancellation Policies

Marino Ridge is very private, discreet, quiet, small. We try to keep administration simple and quick. So here is most of the fine print...! Should questions remain please raise them. We'll deal quickly with them so that unwinding and fun can continue.

If you are a New Zealand resident do enquire directly of us for any Special Offers we may create from time to time.

 

Deposits:  

Direct bookings are secured by payment of a deposit by Direct Credit to our account (see details below) or by Approved Credit Card (on which transaction fees are charged) or, exceptionally at our sole discretion, simply by Validation via our secure vault system of the approved credit card.  Unless separately agreed for longer stays the deposit required free of any bank fees is 100% of the first night tariff.  

Third Party Service Deposits:  

In all cases where a Third Party service, for example Car Hire, Tour Booking, Massage, Yoga, Segway Tour, Horse riding, Salt Fly Fishing, NYE/Christmas function bookings etc., is requested on a Guest's behalf - and the service's terms require a deposit or card number as guarantee - then we request that after the Guest's Visa or Mastercard Credit Card is validated in our secure Card Vault that we are are expressly authorised to use that card as guarantee on the Guest's behalf. 

Payments:  

Payment may be made by

  • Cash
  • Credit and Debit Cards - Visa or Mastercard only at this point, please.  We apologize for any inconvenience that restriction may cause.  A 3% bank imposed fee will be levied on all card transactions.
  • Direct Credit - Available to you only by prior arrangement and to the effect that the full amount of any transaction is lodged free of bank and transaction fees into the account.  In New Zealand our Kiwibank account is Marino Ridge Ltd, Acct # 38-9016-0233045-00, Kiwibank Limited, Ground Floor, New Zealand Post House, 7 Waterloo Quay, Wellington 6011, New Zealand.  In other jurisdictions where BSB is used our Account BSB is 389016 and our Account Number is 023304500.   The bank's SWIFT Code is KIWINZ22.  Note that New Zealand banking regulations require international depositors to provide their account number at the sending bank, sender's full name (no initials – everything needs to be spelled out) and sender's full street address: PO Box numbers are not acceptable. Telephone details may sometimes be requested by intermediary banks.  Please use Surname of Principal Guest in Particulars Field, Arrival Date DDMMYY in Code Field and, if available, Invoice Number in Reference Field.  Thank you.

 

Payment of any balance is due 7 days before guest arrival unless varied by prior written agreement.  

Cancellations:  

We understand if circumstances arise which force your cancellation. But having only three suites means cancellations affect us seriously, and we treat them that way. Therefore, ​unless you wish to carry the cancellation risk, we recommend for your protection you invest in a travel insurance plan that explicitly covers you for cancellation events.  

Except if Special Terms and Conditions apply - see Note 2 below - we will not levy cancellation fees for bookings cancelled more than 31 days before arrival date.

Should you have to cancel we will levy per any Special Terms and Conditions or, more usually, as follows:

   -  If 31 days or less from planned arrival date: 100% of tariff for first night stay, or 25% of tariff for whole of stay, whichever is the greater.

   -  If 7 days or less from planned arrival date: 100% of tariff for whole of stay, refunded pro-rata if some or all of the space is on-sold.

In each case you agree your act of cancellation is your explicit permission for us to reduce any potential refund by the amount of the cancellation levies and fees described or, if for any reason no prepayment deposit has been made, to charge your Visa or MasterCard those amounts. Refunds of deposits will be effected at our sole choice by a reversal of the Credit Card Transaction or by Direct Credit to your nominated bank account or internationally by International Money Transfer, in each case nett of any and all of our bank fees. All other foreseen or unforeseen costs, intermediary fees, foreign exchange fluctuations and all other risks to the return of your monies are solely your responsibility and to your account.  
 

Additional Notes

Note 1. Marino Ridge may release the booked dates without further notice if your full deposit free of bank charges is not received in cleared funds when requested.

Note 2. Special local or global events of any nature whatsoever - especially but not exclusively around COVID-19 issues, holiday periods or events such as the America's Cup - may require us to alter or amend these Tariff and Cancellation policies.  Such alterations or amendments become Tariff and Cancellation Policy for the time being and amend and/or supersede our standard policies accordingly. We will give advice of any changes directly to those affected or generally via this part of our our website.  See all Special Terms and Conditions below.  Please check back occasionally, and in any case before committing to a booking.

Note 3.  Marino Ridge is very private, discreet, quiet. Except where exclusive use is requested, facilities on the property are not suitable for children under 12 years of age.

Special Holiday Season Terms and Conditions:

Per Note 2 above, Standard Deposit and Cancellation requirements are amended as follows:

Deposit requirements: 

  • For bookings for dates between 20 December 2021 and February 10 2022 inclusive an increased deposit may be requested at the sole discretion of Marino Ridge depending on the specific requirements of the booking.

Cancellations:

For bookings with arrivals between 20 December 2021 and February 10 2022 inclusive
  • If 42 days or less from planned arrival date: 100% of tariff for first night stay, or 25% of tariff for whole of stay, whichever is the greater.
  • If 10 days or less from planned arrival date: 100% of tariff for whole of stay, refunded pro-rata if some or all of the space is on-sold.

Summer Tariff 01 November 2021 to 30 April 2022 

Our tariff (New Zealand Dollars, including tax) is $965.00 per night with two night minimum through the Summer season 2021/2022 for each of the Akarana, Coromandel and Owhanake Suites.

 

Tariff includes: 

  • Transfers from Matiatia ferry or from point of arrival on-island if by seaplane or light aircraft
  • Pre-dinner drinks and nibbles each night
  • Transfers to your chosen dinner location within the local area (dinner costs and return your care)
  • Use of all Marino Ridge's comforts and amenities, including 24 hour onsite staff and daily housekeeping
  • Delicious gourmet breakfasts, changing daily and by season
  • Transfers to Matiatia ferry or to point of departure off-island if by seaplane or light aircraft

 

Winter Tariff 01 May 2022 - 31 October, 2022

Our tariff (New Zealand Dollars, including local taxes) is $830 per night for the 2022 Winter season for each of the Akarana, Coromandel or Owhanake Suites.

Tariff includes:

  • Transfers from Matiatia ferry or from point of arrival on-island if by seaplane or light aircraft
  • Pre-dinner drinks and nibbles each night
  • Transfers to your chosen dinner location within the local area (dinner costs and return your care)
  • Use of all Marino Ridge's comforts and amenities, including 24 hour onsite staff and daily housekeeping
  • Delicious gourmet breakfasts, changing daily and by season
  • Transfers to Matiatia ferry or to point of departure off-island if by seaplane or light aircraft
